ABOUT
Andy Milner was the original founder of the company in 1959. He followed an opportunity to Alaska, saw a chance to be his own boss, and became sole proprietor of his own Alaska based steel distribution company. He quickly made a name for himself and grew the business into one of the leading steel joist and metal deck suppliers in the state. Andy Milner Co. has received many awards and experienced countless triumphs over the past 60 years. The company has been a member of AGC since 1959 and was granted the AGC Associate of the Year award in 2007. They also received the Nucor Hospitality Project of the Year for the Sheldon Lodge on the Ruth Glacier. The company was the first to use the enhanced ShearTranz® System on the Fred Meyer in Fairbanks in 1995. The company was also the first in the nation to use the PunchLok® System on the Lowe’s building in Anchorage. Andy Milner Company has been and will continue to be a leading force in technology and customer care in their field.

JACOB SWARTZ
Jacob joined the company in 2018. He graduated with a degree in business from the University of Nevada Reno and followed his passion for adventure as a ski and mountaineer guide in Lake Tahoe, CA for nearly a decade. He continues to adventure in his home town of Seward, AK and has quickly become a leader and invaluable member of Andy Milner Co.
MOLLY WERTH
Molly started with the company in 2021. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a biology degree and worked as a microbiologist in the field of medical laboratory science for over 5 years. Ready for a change of pace she joined Andy Milner Co. and learned a new trade. Molly is now the main detailer for the company.
JOHN SWARTZ
John joined the company in 1985 and took over the company as owner in 2001. He graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Michigan and followed a serendipitous opportunity not unlike Andy Milner’s and ended up in Alaska. Inspired by Andy and hoping to one day become his own boss John partnered with Andy. His passion and knowledge for steel joist and metal deck is unsurpassed and he has and continues to serve Alaska’s business community with the finest customer service for over 30 years.
ERIC KNIGHT
Eric was welcomed to Andy Milner Co. in 1997. He brought with him over 20 years of experience in the structural steel detailing field. His partnership with John and Andy helped grow and establish the company as one of the leading steel joist and metal deck suppliers in the state. Eric retired in 2020 after over 20 years with the company.
